How to keep ColdFusion alive?
September 26, 2007
Our fearless CFUG leader posted an interesting discussion on his blog: Click Here, I was at the meeting last night and agree wholeheartedly with AJ’s comments.
Often these days I see the glazed look in peoples eyes when I say “I’m a coldfusion developer”. That being said I think that education is the key and coldfusion needs exposure in educational facilities as much as .net, coldfusion is on the curriculum of a professional training institute down the road and seems that they are still training in cf5….
I believe it is down to, US, the developers to spread the word. Are Adobe fully behind coldfusion in the long term? Is it viable in the future? Or looking further ahead, is flex and RIA going to cover the service area that coldfusion currently is used for? I know that coldfusion is a way to generate dynamic HTML and fantastic CMS applications but are we moving towards a browserless society, who knows?
